
It was less than a year ago that Mayor Ed Lee appointed Tang to the District 4 seat that was left vacant when Carmen Chu was named assessor-recorder. In the months that followed her appointment, Tang also ran for election — a race that she won handily in November.
On Tuesday, Tang admitted to a full Board of Supervisors chamber — including Chu, former District 4 Supervisor and Assemblywoman Fiona Ma, Mayor Ed Lee and many city department heads — that she had been nervous in taking on the roll of supervisor, but that she had started to settle into the role.
And just as Tang settles in for her first term as an elected member of the Board of Supervisors, she will again be dealing with the citywide issues and those in her district — as well as another election in November.

Tang ticked through many of her accomplishments in office, including a sweeping proposal to put together a blueprint for the future of the Sunset district and a first-of-its-kind program that is helping homeowners break up the concrete front yards in the Avenues and replace it with low-water plants.…
