SF judge allows waterfront measure to stay on ballot

On June 3, it appears San Francisco voters will have the chance to weigh in on protecting existing waterfront building height limits.

San Francisco Superior Court Judge Marla Miller ruled Tuesday against opponents’ request for Proposition B to be knocked off the ballot. [See ruling below.]


Supporters of the measure — such as former City Attorney Louise Renne, former Mayor Art Agnos, retired Judge Quentin Kopp and former Board of Supervisors President Aaron Peskin — celebrated the news Wednesday.

However, Corinne Woods, a plaintiff in the case who lives near proposed development sites, said she hopes opponents appeal the judge’s ruling.

The decision came a day after the dueling sides squared off in a court Monday, arguing for nearly two hours

Miller’s ruling is about whether to strike the measure from the June ballot and not on the merits of the case.…
