by Laura DudnickThe Montgomery BART station has reopened after a person became stuck under a train earlier this evening, but riders should still expect major delays.
The incident was reported at about 4:50 p.m. A BART officer at the station said a female was stuck under a train. The person has since been transported to a hospital, according to BART officials.
Trains were forced to single-track through the Montgomery station and did not stop for nearly an hour as a result. Delays are affecting East Bay destinations, as well as trains heading toward Millbrae and San Francisco International Airport.
Montgomery Station now open. Service restoration in progress. Person was transported to hospital.
