Supervisors David Campos and David Chiu will debate again in their race for a state Assembly seat on Wednesday, April 30.

The debate is sponsored by several District 5 organizations, including Cathedral Hill Neighbors, D5 Action, D5 Democratic Club, the Haight Ashbury Neighborhood Council, and others.
In January, the supervisors faced off in a spirited debate, during which the two liberal Democrats sought to distinguish their individual political identities. Campos accused Chiu of not standing with his constituents, stating, "At the end of the day, when the rubber hits the road, I am going with them, not the Chamber of Commerce."

Chiu, meanwhile, called Campos ineffective, claiming that his opponent has not been able to pass much legislation.

Wednesday's debate will be held at the Park Branch Library at 1833 Page Street. Doors will open at 7 p.m., and attendees are advised that seating will be limited. Public questions will be collected from 7-7:30 p.m., with the debate following from 7:30-8:30 p.m.
