Two men who were sleeping in their respective vehicles were robbed at gunpoint in two separate incidents Sunday, police said.

The first incident occurred in the Bayview near Third Street and Fitzgerald Avenue about 2:45 a.m., police said.

A 63-year-old man was sleeping in his car when a man aged 20 to 30 approached and smashed a passenger side window, police said. The suspect pointed a gun at the victim and demanded the keys to the vehicle.

The victim refused and fled out of the vehicle, police said. The suspect stole the victim's cellphone, backpack and cash and fled the scene on foot.

The second incident happened in the South of Market area at Ninth and Minna streets about 5:21 a.m., police said.

In that incident, a 22-year-old man was sleeping in his car when a man aged 40 to 45 smashed the victim's rear passenger window and demanded the victim's property at gunpoint.

The victim complied, turning over his cellphone and wallet. To add insult to injury, the crook punctured the front tire of the victim's vehicle and fled on foot.

No arrest has been made in either case.
