A verbal altercation started at a nightclub between a 38-year-old man and three others and continued outside the club about 2:45 a.m. in the area of 18th and Collingwood streets, Officer Gordon Shyy said. The incident escalated to the point where the victim was reportedly punched by one of the suspects, Shyy said.
The victim then jumped into his car to leave the scene and one of the three suspects allegedly fired a handgun into the victim’s vehicle, Shyy said. The victim was not struck or injured by gunfire.
Police arrived to the scene on reports of gunfire and pulled over a vehicle with two of the suspects in the shooting, Shyy said.
Jason Hill, 33, and Terrance Hill, 29, both of Oakland, were arrested on assault with a deadly weapon charges, Shyy said. The older Hill was also booked on vandalism and firearm violations while the younger man was booked on a public intoxication charge.
It is unknown if the two men are related.
A woman who was reported to have been involved in the argument and subsequent shooting was also arrested nearby, Shyy said.
Ava Sasso, 25, of San Francisco, was arrested and booked on assault with a deadly weapon, public intoxication, assault on a peace officer and resisting arrest charges.
A firearm was recovered from the car of the first two suspects, Shyy said.
Police believe the argument may have been over another woman.
