Police are investigating three separate stabbings in San Francisco since Saturday.

The first stabbing occurred about 4:30 a.m. Saturday in the first block of Maiden Lane near Union Square, Officer Gordon Shyy said today.

In that incident, the 22-year-old victim observed the suspect arguing with another person, Shyy said. The suspect then reportedly turned his attention toward the victim and they began arguing.

The suspect then stabbed the victim multiple times in the torso area, Shyy said, before fleeing.

The victim flagged down a passing patrol car to report the incident.

He was hospitalized with what were thought to be critical injuries at the time, but he is expected to survive, Shyy said.

A detailed description of the suspect was not provided to police.

Meanwhile on Sunday, a man was stabbed in the armpit after an argument turned physical in the Upper Haight, Shyy said.

The 41-year-old victim was reportedly involved in an argument with a 22-year-old man about 12:20 a.m., when he was allegedly stabbed.

The suspect fled but was later arrested, Shyy said. He was identified as 23-year-old Samuel Linsday, a transient San Francisco resident. Linsday was booked on charges of assault with deadly weapon and an outstanding traffic warrant.

The victim's injuries were originally considered to be life threatening, but he is now expected to survive, Shyy said.

And earlier today, someone was stabbed inside Glide Memorial Church in the Tenderloin, Shyy said.

About 10 a.m., the victim was reportedly stabbed in the shoulder by a suspect who fled but was later arrested on a Muni bus near Sixth and Market streets, Shyy said.

The victim's injuries were not considered life-threatening. As of noon, the suspect's name or booking information was not available.
