A woman was arrested Wednesday on charges of felony vandalism after she reportedly cracked a laundromat’s window with a bike helmet, police said.

About 1:45 p.m., the woman walked into the laundromat in the 3200 block of Folsom Street near Precita Park and was reportedly “acting strange, just lingering around inside talking to herself,” police said. Then she allegedly picked up a bicycle helmet and began throwing it forcefully against the front window about 15 times before the glass finally cracked.

A patron called both the owner of the establishment and the Police Department, and officers arrived a short time later.

The woman was still inside when police showed up. When officers asked her why she broke the window, all she said was, “No comment.”

The suspect was booked on charges of felony vandalism.
