One man was shot in the stomach and another man was stabbed in the back during a fight in North Beach early this morning, police Officer Albie Esparza said. The two victims are in critical condition at the hospital.
The victims, aged 26 and 21, were reportedly involved in a fight with two other men, who appeared to be in their 20s, in the 400 block of Broadway about 1:05 a.m., Esparza said.
One of the men pulled out a handgun and shot the 26-year-old victim in the stomach, police said. The other man in the fight pulled out a knife and stabbed the 21-year-old victim in the back and face before the two men fled the scene on foot.
Witnesses pointed police in the direction the suspects fled and two men were detained and released, Esparza said. The two suspect remain at large.
