by Bay City NewsBART service is running again this morning after police searched for a possibly armed suspect aboard a train at the West Oakland station, BART police said.
A man reported that someone pulled a gun on him outside of the Richmond station just after 7 a.m. and then went inside the station and possibly boarded a train, police said.
That train was stopped at West Oakland as police searched it, BART police said.
Trains were backed up throughout the system, as far away as North Berkeley, Walnut Creek and San Leandro for lines heading to San Francisco, Fremont and Richmond, according to BART.
BART police said that as of about 8:15 a.m., the train was searched but the suspect was not located and train service was allowed to resume.
