by Rob Nagle Two Chinatown banks were robbed within 10 minutes of each other and within two blocks of each other by a similarly described suspect, police said.

The first bank robbery occurred in the 700 block of Washington Street about 1:30 p.m. when a man, who appeared to be in his 50s, handed the teller a note demanding money, police said. The teller turned over some cash and the crook fled the scene.

But he apparently wasn’t finished yet.

Two blocks away, in the 900 block of Washington Street about 10 minutes later, a similarly described suspect handed a note to the teller demanding money, police said. The teller complied and the bank bandit fled the scene on foot.

No arrests have been made.
