He may have used a broom, but it was not a clean hit.
A man was smacked in the face with a broom before coffee was thrown on him in a fight in the Tenderloin on Wednesday night, police said.
The 32-year-old victim was reportedly involved in an argument with a man who appeared to be in his 20s about 9:15 p.m. in the area of Eddy and Larkin streets, police said.
The suspect grabbed a broom, which apparently just happened to be nearby, and struck the victim in the face with it before throwing a cup of coffee on him, police said. The suspect then fled.
The victim sustained a swollen eye in the scuffle.
