A man was arrested Friday after he reportedly threw a glass candle holder at a waitress in a Mission restaurant, police said Monday.
Juan Antonio Valdivia-Pedroza, 22, of San Francisco was booked on a charge of assault with a deadly weapon.
The man was reportedly leaving the restaurant in the 400 block of Valencia Street about 10:44 p.m. when he threw the candle holder at the 30-year-old woman’s face, police said.
The incident started when the suspect reportedly refused to pay as he was leaving the restaurant, Officer Albie Esparza said. An argument ensued between him and the waitress and, on his way out, he is alleged to have thrown the candle holder.
The waitress sustained a cut over her eye.
Witnesses flagged down police and the suspect was arrested.
