by Rob Nagle Police made two arrests in connection with the pursuit of two auto burglary suspects in which the suspect vehicle struck an unmarked police vehicle, injuring an officer.

Creg Edwin Tucker, 22, and Roland Jerome Black, 30, both of San Francisco, were arrested in separate locations after police reportedly saw the two burglarizing a vehicle at Chestnut and Montgomery streets, Officer Albie Esparza said.

The four officers observing the suspects in an unmarked car pursued the suspects to the area of The Embarcadero and Pier 39, Esparza said.

After the officers confronted the suspects, they reportedly rammed their red minivan into the officer’s vehicle about 7:20 p.m., Esparza said.

A foot chase then ensued and Tucker was apprehended at Lombard Street and The Embarcadero.

Black was later arrested in the Bayview district, police said.

One of the officers was hospitalized for injuries he sustained in the crash, but they were not life-threatening.

Tucker was booked into County Jail on charges of auto burglary, conspiracy, grand theft and resisting arrest, Esparza said. Black was booked on charges of auto burglary, assault with a deadly weapon, conspiracy, felony hit-and-run, driving on a suspended license, grand theft and a parole violation.
